For over 35 years, Swearingen Software has helped radiology departments improve workflow, reduce delays, and simplify system integration.
In the 1980s, radiology information systems were expensive, complex, and difficult to use. Most vendors adapted legacy systems—resulting in clunky workflows and limited usability.
Swearingen Software took a different approach. We built one of the first radiology information systems designed specifically for personal computers—making workflows faster, more accessible, and more efficient.
In 1989, we developed a groundbreaking interface engine—RMSLink—which enabled our RIS to connect with virtually any hospital information system. At a time when interoperability was still largely unsolved, this allowed radiology departments to exchange data seamlessly.
In 1991, Varian Associates partnered with Swearingen Software to develop an oncology system based on our platform—further validating the strength and flexibility of our technology.
Over the following decade, Swearingen Software became a leading innovator in RIS development. Our founder, Randall Swearingen, was recognized by Medical Imaging Magazine as a thought leader in the field.
Today, RISynergy reflects everything we’ve learned from decades of working directly with radiology practices. It is designed by people who understand radiology workflows—and continually refined through real-world customer feedback.
RISynergy isn’t adapted from general healthcare software.
It’s built specifically for radiology—based on decades of experience solving real operational challenges in imaging environments.
