March 2012
Houston, Texas. – Swearingen Software announced today that RISynergy 5.2, the company’s state of the art Radiology Information System, has attained ONC-ATCB meaningful use certification.
RISynergy now meets the Stage 1 Meaningful Use regulations with adherence to the eight security requirements and the Maintain Active Medication Allergy List criteria. RISynergy creates or receives all patient demographic and allergy information.
“We understand the importance of this certification to our customers so we made it our top priority. Swearingen Software customers can now more completely achieve Meaningful Use for their facility and thus capitalize on the financial rewards offered by the HITECH Act.” said Randall Swearingen, President and CEO of Swearingen Software.
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Act contains incentives related to health care information technology and contains specific incentives designed to accelerate the adoption of electronic health record (EHR) systems among providers. The HITECH Act also widens the scope of privacy and security protections available under HIPAA; it increases the potential legal liability for non-compliance; and it provides for more enforcement. Beginning in 2011, healthcare facilities were rewarded for achieving Meaningful Use. According to the Act, facilities who fail to achieve Meaningful Use by 2015 will be penalized.
RISynergy provides a highly customizable, user-friendly solution that fits your facility’s specific needs. The capabilities and unique functions of RISynergy will make your department more efficient and more productive by automating redundant tasks, facilitating communication with referring physicians, and providing a broad range of reports. The RIS is highly scalable and can connect to virtually any third party system, such as EMR, HIS, Voice Recognition and Billing systems.
