Houston, Texas. – Swearingen Software, Inc. announced today that RISynergy®, their comprehensive Radiology Information System, is completely ICD-10 ready. This allows hospitals and clinics to begin taking the steps that are needed to gain compliance. While the U.S. health care industry’s transition to ICD-10 changed to the October 1, 2014 deadline, testing for hospital and clinic compliance will begin October 1, 2013.
As with many of the transitions occuring across the health care industry, this change must occur with every provider covered by HIPAA. According to Kerry Martin, Founder and CEO of VitalWare, “The transition to ICD-10 is far more than an HIM coding change. Vendors play an essential role in supporting healthcare delivery, and the success of a provider’s transition to ICD-10 will depend heavily on how well they perform. Providers have the right and responsibility to know where their vendors stand; transparency is key.” VitalWare is partnered with HIMSS, and offers VitalVendors through the HIMSS® ICD-10 PlayBook, a free website that rates vendor readiness for the transition.
Randall Swearingen, the President and CEO of Swearingen Software spoke about the upcoming change. “Swearingen Software is working hard to ensure that our customers have everything they need to attain compliance for the ICD-10 change. We know that with all of the new regulations across the health care industry it can be difficult to stay on top of the latest set of regulations. We are pleased to be listed on the HIMSS® ICD-10 PlayBook with a Level 7 readiness, which is the highest achievable level.”
